The truth about babies with big heads

The truth about babies with big heads

So I’ll leave the science to the experts and instead, I’ll take a closer look at a related topic: It’s like being the parent of a big-headed baby. (It’s been around since birth—the issues of giving birth to a baby with a big head are a whole other story!)

I learned these things through experience, raising myself a baby with a big head. See if you can link…

Getting dressed for babies is just one of the many challenges to try the patience of new parents. Combining all those big bodysuits and snappy studs with baby ugliness, there’s a recipe for finger-biting.

I was especially bad at dressing my eldest son. I realized it wasn’t because of my disability (although I think it contributed!) when I realized how big my baby’s head was compared to the rest of his body. Although my child was in the smallest 3 percent of the population in terms of height and weight, his head was larger than the 95th percent of the population. What this means in practice is that I was trying to get clothes of size 0000 for one head size.

I started apologizing to him every time I had to undress. I also learned to shop carefully, checking neck size before buying. It was impossible to get many items of gifted or gifted clothing even though it was only the ‘right size’. I turned to Eagle Eye for the most useful “envelope” neck design tops.

medical concern

Big heads may or may not be a sign of intelligence, but they may be a sign of medical error. The medical staff were the first to realize how big his head was compared to his body, and as a result he underwent tests to make sure he didn’t have hydrocephalus (excess fluid in the brain) or another condition. Fortunately, she grew by ultrasound of the head, but taking blood was a different matter entirely.

trembling head

Heads are heavy! Even in adults, our heads make up as much as 10 percent of our total body weight. We don’t do this often, thanks to the work of our well-developed neck muscles, but it’s a different story for kids who start their lives with little control or strength in the muscles that support the head. Head control is an essential part of getting a baby to sit up and crawl. It must be even more difficult when you’re whispering your head!

nice worker

It’s a real winner for being a baby with a big head. All babies are cute, but as humans, we are programmed to be attracted to people who are bigger than the rest of our bodies. This explains the allure of cats, puppies, and Disney characters. Seeing a baby with a big head (large eyes, plump cheeks, and smooth skin also contributed) strives to bring out the best in our caregiver.

Which is a good thing, because, as the mother of a baby with a big head, I needed a huge dose of oomph to keep me going through all of my dressing sessions…
