It is a famous Punjabi dish. Most people love its taste. This is the best combination dish for the winter season. Green mustard is also good for health. Eating Sarson ka Saag and Makki ki Roti in winter has its own delight. But some people find it difficult to do so. So let us tell you how mustard greens can easily be made delicious.

Necessary components:

  • 250gm green mustard
  • 150 grams of green spinach
  • 100gm Bathua Saj
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tomato
  • 2 dry red peppers
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper powder
  • 8-10 garlic cloves
  • 2 inch piece of ginger
  • 2 tablespoons corn flour
  • 1 tablespoon of ghee
  • a pinch of asafoetida
  • salt to taste

Method:
To make mustard greens, first wash all three greens separately and chop them into small pieces.
Put the three vegetables, ginger, salt and water in a pressure cooker and put in 2-3 whistles.
After the pressure of the cooker is over, take out the vegetables and separate the water from them.
Put the vegetables in the bowl of a grinder and grind them coarsely.
Now we put the greens and cornmeal in the pan over medium heat and cook, stirring.
Mix turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt.
Add the remaining green water and cook for 15-20 minutes.
Meanwhile, put the oil in the skillet on the other side and keep it warm.
Add onions and fry until golden brown.
Then add the tomatoes and cook until soft.
Then mix the greens by adding them to the onions and tomatoes.
Now put the ghee in a frying pan over medium heat and keep it warm.
Add asafoetida, dry red pepper and garlic and fry until light golden in color.
When the tempering is ready, pour it over the greens and mix well.
Sarson Ka Sag is ready. Served with corn bread.

Cornbread :
We take cornmeal and knead it.
Heat the tawa and pour some ghee on it so that the roti does not stick to it.
Prepare the corn roti in a circular shape on the wheel.
After that put it on the pan very conveniently.
Put the ghee on the bread and heat it until it becomes golden brown.
Serve roti with green mustard, jaggery and white butter.
